Frequently asked questions…
-
How can I hire you? That's super easy! Just click on any button or link that says "contact me"and fill out the form. That will send me a message and I'll respond as soon as I am able. Please make sure to add as much detail of the project as you can because I'll be using that information to make the first draft of a Statment of Wok form , which I will attach to my reply for your review. I will not begin work on a project untill we agree on and sign this contract.
-
Do you accept PayPal?Yes, I do. Additional information will be sent via e-mail when you contact me about any commission work.
-
How much does it cost to hire you for a project?Starting with minimum wage for my skill level, I calculate the cost of a project based on the skills necessary to get the job done and how quickly you wish the project to be done. In the Statement of Work document I will include a cost estimate, as well as a summary of the project. Once we both understand and agree on the project scope, this document will have to be signed and sent back to me before I am able to begin work.
-
When can I expect a response to an email? For new project proposals sent via the "contact me" form I try to respond via email in 5 buisness days, if not sooner. Current projects with an agreed contract have higher prority and as such will be answered in 3 buisness days, if not sooner. If you have not see a response e-mail in your inbox please check your spam folder. Some email providers automatically filter messages from unformiliar adresses as spam for the ease and convienence of their users. I would hate to loose contact with you due to such technical inconveninces.
-
How will files be transferred for reviews, edits, and delivery for the final product?"I primarily use email to send files that way both parties will have a constant dated account of the projects progress. When files become too large to send as attachments however I use WeTransfer, a web serves that allows 2 GB to be sent along with a message. So that the ongoing record of the project can still be reliable, I also send a “be on the look-out for” email. A part of the WeTransfer serves is they send a conformation email to me when a message is send to and downloaded by the recipient(s). I include this email in the project's progress account.

What’s your policy on copyright ownership?Unless otherwise agreed upon, I follow an exclusive license agreement for the work I sell to my clients. This means that once the client has paid, they have an exclusive license for the final delivered files; which will be sent in whichever file format needed. I, the designer, retain the right to all my working files, sketches, and other such materials. I also retain a limited right to use the final work; in my portfolio or another such display of my past work. When the work is used in this way, it will be labeled noting for whom the work was created.

Do you do commission work?Yes, in addition to freelance graphic design projects I can do art commissions. Since these are usually one-off pieces instead of large projects, they are priced differently. They do not include a step-breakdown with separate update deadlines.
What Do Other's Have TO Say?
Art Director, the revolving museum
JERRY BECK
Having worked with hundreds of interns, graphic design volunteers, and professionals I can say Jena was the best of all of them. She is creative, professional, diligent and ambitious. Jena’s willingness, energy, and talents laid the groundwork for a new vision of The Revolving Museum as it celebrated its 30th year anniversary, and The Revolving Museum’s busiest growth periods ever, with projects in several cities in New England and nationally. Jena created public art proposals, invitations, animations, logos, brochures, social media and so much more. Her extraordinary efforts has convinced me to continue to work with Jena as a hired graphic artist.

Graphic arts certainly runs deeply in her blood. For Jena, the world was her playground and she could make it into anything. I’d always admired her talent. Whenever there is an idea that I want to see come alive, I turn to Jena. She can take even the smallest sliver of creativity and unfold a vibrant tapestry better than imagined. Of all the things that Jena is, the word ‘quirky’ usually comes to mind. But in Jena Grover you will find the most complicated mix of energized, focused, passionate, creative, independent, and brutally honest individual to be all wrapped up into one convenient brain. Any employer or client will be met with a once in a lifetime experience when working with Jena; the rarest and most exciting opportunity you’ll ever encounter.

It has been my absolute pleasure to work with Jena over the years. Her artistic eye and ability to transfer descriptive image into visual image is amazing! Jena’s graphic images are the highlight of many of the Revolving Museum’s grant proposals, providing reviewers with a view of the finished project and increasing our success rate. Jena is a true team player, working well with all members of our organization to complete work under tight deadlines and even coaching youth in our public art workshops. It is my pleasure to highly recommend this most talented artist.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jena and one thing is clear above all else is that she has a laser focus when it comes to a client’s needs. She truly cares about the work she produces and I feel she will exceed your expectations. Jena often goes above and beyond for her work and is quick to offer support and ideas when working in a group setting. Her commitment and passion is one of the many reasons clients enjoy her authentic presence. Jena gives her all to whatever task is at hand and takes her craft seriously. This is one of the many reasons I recommend her without reservations to any future endeavors she may take on!

Jena is an amazing artist and animator. We are a small operation in Canada, and Jena took my thoughts and turned them into a beautiful and cohesive identity. Also making our logos into an accessible design for people with visual impairments and disabilities wasn’t something I had immediately thought of, but I am so happy that Jena thought about it and incorporated into the designs! You will not be disappointed with Jena’s work!
